Celebrating NTU alumni making a difference

From advancing semiconductor innovation and shaping the built environment to making their mark in the arts, sports and marine conservation, the 2026 Nanyang Alumni Awards celebrate 30 alumni whose work is making a difference across industries and communities.

Held on 28 October 2026, the awards ceremony recognised alumni who have distinguished themselves in their professions, contributed to society and strengthened their ties with NTU.

Among this year’s recipients of the highest accolade, the Nanyang Distinguished Alumni Award, were Ms Low Yen Ling, Senior Minister of State for Energy, Trade and Industry, and Culture, Community and Youth, Chairman of the Mayors’ Committee, and Mayor of South West District; and Mr Irving Tan, CEO of WD, honoured for their outstanding achievements and contributions.

The other awardees were recognised across the Nanyang Alumni Achievement, Nanyang Outstanding Young Alumni and Nanyang Alumni Service awards categories, reflecting the diverse ways NTU graduates contribute to their professions, communities and society.

Congratulations to all 30 recipients. Their achievements reflect the breadth of talent within the NTU alumni community and the lasting impact of alumni in Singapore and beyond.

Nanyang Distinguished Alumni Award

Ms Low Yen Ling

A respected national leader, Ms Low has dedicated her career to advancing Singapore’s economic development, fostering enterprise and strengthening communities. Through her leadership in public service and community engagement, she champions inclusive growth, empowers individuals and creates opportunities for future generations.

Nanyang Distinguished Alumni Award

Mr Irving Tan
CEO, WD

A distinguished global technology leader, Irving has dedicated his career to driving business transformation, advancing data infrastructure and strengthening global operations. As CEO of WD, he leads innovation in the AI era while supporting future generations through mentorship and his longstanding commitment to NTU Singapore.

Nanyang Alumni Achievement Award

Er Jee Yi Yng
Managing Director, AECOM Singapore Pte Ltd; and Senior Vice President, AECOM Southeast Asia

School of Civil and Environmental Engineering
BEng / Class of 2000

From major transport networks to complex underground infrastructure, Yi Yng has helped shape Singapore’s built environment through engineering innovation and technical excellence. She also champions talent development and inspires more women to pursue careers in engineering.

Nanyang Outstanding Young Alumni Award

Mr Lee Tse Peng Gavin Joshua
Head Coach, Singapore Men’s National Football Team

National Institute of Education
BSc / Class of 2015

Gavin has reached a major milestone in Singapore football, guiding the national team to its first AFC Asian Cup qualification since 1984. A firm believer in the power of sport to shape young lives, he also shares his coaching experience with future educators and supports youth development beyond the football field.

Nanyang Alumni Service Award

Mr Hanky Bayugiri Taufan Guruh
Internal Affairs Manager, NTU Alumni Association (Indonesia)

School of Materials Science and Engineering
BEng / Class of 2007

Hanky has been instrumental in strengthening NTU’s alumni community in Indonesia through networking, mentoring and learning initiatives. Since 2020, he has helped foster lasting connections among alumni and deepen their ties with the University.

About the Awards

Established in 2005, the annual Nanyang Alumni Awards recognise alumni who have brought honour to NTU Singapore. Awardees have excelled in their field of specialisation nationally, regionally or internationally, or have contributed significantly to the betterment of the University, the community or society.

The nomination period for Nanyang Alumni Awards 2027 will open in January 2027. More information will be provided in due course.
