Hear From Our Alumni
"Mentoring is a two-way street. I’ve been able to provide advice and guidance to mentees in their careers, while picking up new skills and understanding the younger generations. Every pairing is a new experience and a special journey."
- Daren Lee, College of Computing and Data Science alumnus, mentor
"As an alumnus, I have had the privilege of journeying with mentees as they transition from university into the workplace. Watching my mentees grow, mature and make their mark brings me tremendous joy. As I help them grow, I grow too."
- Lim Kok Ping, School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering alumnus, mentor
“Students can sometimes be a little shy about asking questions in a large setting, but what I found rewarding was that some reached out and connected with me afterwards. Mentoring is a give-and-take: we share, but we also learn.”
- Janet Jill Yu, Nanyang Executive MBA (EMBA) alumna, Career Growth Fair speaker on “How Career Transitioners in Singapore Can Accelerate Their Transition”What happens after I register?
Your details and areas of interest will be reviewed by the Alumni Engagement team and subsequently shared with relevant departments. For example, we will put you in touch with the Career & Attachment Office if you’re interested in sharing internship opportunities for NTU undergraduates. When relevant opportunities arise, we'll reach out with more information.
If I volunteer as a mentor, do I need to commit to a fixed number of hours?
Alumni Activate is designed to offer different ways of contributing. The level of commitment will vary depending on the mentorship opportunity.
Can I register even if I'm not sure how I want to contribute?
Yes. You can register your interest and indicate the areas you'd like to explore. We'll share relevant opportunities with you.
Can I give back in more than one pathway?
Yes. You can indicate interest in giving back in multiple ways when you register.
I'm not currently based in Singapore. Can I still participate?
Yes. Many opportunities can be supported remotely or through your professional networks, so NTU alumni based around the world can contribute.
