ADM Alumni designed artist floats for Chingay 2025

ADM alumni Lena Lok & Royston Phang (Class of 2009) designed two artist floats for Chingay 2025! Their floats Satay Dreams and Whimsical Wonderland: A Sweet Journey Through Eurasian Heritage made their debut at the parade.

Development of the floats began last year, with Lena and Royston leading their respective community teams in bringing Chingay 2025’s vibrant, food-inspired theme to life!​ Satay Dreams was also selected to tour the heartlands! ​

About Satay Dreams (by Lena Lok)

Satay Dreams invites viewers into a young girl's whimsical vision of a fantastical Satay land.  Crowned with satays, she embodies the joy of sharing this beloved dish, surrounded by playful dancing peanuts.  This installation celebrates the spirit of togetherness, evoking warm memories of bonding over satay and highlighting its special role in bringing communities closer.

About Whimsical Wonderland: A Sweet Journey Through Eurasian Heritage (by Royston Phang)

This Whimsical Wonderland float celebrates Eurasian desserts and the joy of baking. A spirited baker travels through dessert pastures, blending flavors and telling stories through her creations. The vibrant palette of red, blue, and yellow captures the festive Eurasian spirit. Inspired by tea wares and mosaic art, the float merges contemporary design with creative twists. This whimsical creation reflects evolving aesthetics of traditional cakes influenced by modern tastes, while honouring the timeless warmth they bring to gatherings.
