Where are international events headed to against the backdrop of the pandemic?
NTU PhD student Zhang Li Jian (transliteration) from NTU’s School of Social Sciences wrote about how large-scale international events will be organised and attended during the global pandemic.
The global pandemic presented potential opportunities for online and offline hybrid events, which may change future concerts, sports games or other competitive performances. Each era has its own cultural form. In the 21st century, any event organiser must re-examine and redesign a new experience that meets the needs of the contemporary audience and the technology and hygiene standards. It is hoped that after this pandemic, there may be new cultural forms and functions of international events.
