The recent anti-monopoly policies in China and Hong Kong

Assoc Prof Yip Sau Leung, who teaches economics at NTU, wrote a commentary about the recent anti-monopoly policies targeted at internet platforms. He said with the policies, China’s leadership has probably realised that if the rich are allowed to grow without restrictions, it will not only endanger the governance of the leadership but also cause China’s citizens to fall into a situation which cannot be recovered. He mentioned some strategies to overcome the Evergrande incident.
