The newly launched “Notable Hinghwa People in Singapore” book by Puxian (Singapore) Entrepreneurs Network introduces 55 Hinghwa people, covering the three generations from all walks of life, including Minister for Defence, Dr Ng Eng Hen, Minister for Foreign Affairs, Dr Vivian Balakrishnan, founder of Lippo Group, Mochtar Riady, the brothers Huang Zhixiang, Far East Organization brothers Ng Chee Siong and Ng Chee Tat, artistes Mark Lee and Moses Lim. They embodied the Hinghwa's spirit of the capability to endure hardship, diligence, and courage. In conjunction with the book launch, a dialogue on Hinghwa history and culture was held.
The dialogue session was hosted by the executive chairman of the Puxian (Singapore) Entrepreneurs Network and Assoc Prof Wu Wei from NTU’s School of Social Sciences with speakers Prof Kenneth Dean from NUS and Dr Wang Shun Long (transliteration), a member of Puxian (Singapore) Entrepreneurs Network.
