Foreign agent Dickson Yeo released on suspension direction

Dickson Yeo, a Singaporean man who was detained for acting as a paid agent for a foreign state, was released on 14 Dec under a suspension direction.

NTU Asst Prof Dylan Loh said that while Yeo did not cause any harm to Singapore’s security, and any harm caused by this incident is limited, there may be more ‘Dickson Yeos’. He added that the incident is a reminder that for a country that relies on an open economy and connectivity, such incidents are inevitable.
