TODAY spoke to experts to find out more about how visits by beleaguered politicians are handled, and why Sri Lanka's former president Gotabaya Rajapaksa was allowed to enter Singapore even though he had not sought asylum. Asst Prof Dylan Loh from NTU said that Singapore’s current position on refugees and asylum seekers "is consistent with its belief of space limitations and also how a sudden influx of persons may upset the social and security balance of society".
