Expert: China and the US each have their own advantages in the semiconductor supply chain battle

At a forum to discuss the recent US-China talks, Prof Tan Kong Yam from NTU’s economics division discussed China’s strengths and weaknesses in the development of the semiconductor industry. He pointed out that the US  has an advantage in chip production and supply, while China has a huge “ace” in the semiconductor consumer market. This forum is hosted by Singapore Business China and co-organised by Lianhe Zaobao, with Dr Tan as one of the keynote speakers.
