Where to find a 3D-printed car in Singapore

In a live TV interview at the annual ICT event CommunicAsia, Ng Heong Wah, associate professor at NTU, talked about the commercial viability of the 3D printed vehicle, NTU Venture 8. Prof Ng said the NTU eco-car is a prototype and it is still early days for commercialisation. Challenges from bringing it from a concept stage to commercial viability include getting it approved by regulatory bodies to ensure safety standards and that components are designed well. The car is however structurally strong. Its upper cabin is made from ABS, a very tough plastic that is impact resistant while the lower chassis is made from carbon fibre composite which is much stronger and can withstand the loading from the roads.
