The National Assistive & Rehabilitation Technology Student Innovation Challenge (ARTSIC) is an annual student competition, which is held in March-April in Singapore. Through ARTSIC, RRIS provides a national platform for tertiary students to display their creative and innovative devices and concepts for the elderly and person with disabilities. It aims to engage students to care for the less privileged and elderly through inventing innovative solutions to help them overcome their difficulties and improve quality of life. RRIS advocate the importance of Assistive and Rehabilitation Technology and promotes rehabilitation research among the students.
Top winners of ARTSIC will represent Singapore to compete in the Global Student Innovation Challenge (gSIC) with students worldwide. This year, the 15th gSIC which part of the International Convention on Rehabilitation Engineering and Assistive Technology (i-CREATe) will held in Thailand from 7 – 10 December 2021. For the past years, it has been held in Singapore, Thailand, China, Korea, Japan and Australia.
