Winner of Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition 2022 in External Partners Category at JCU Singapore

We are pleased to share that our researcher Dr Kaarunya Sampathkumar has been awarded Winner of Three Minute Thesis (3MT) Competition in External Partners Category at James Cook University Singapore on 26 August 2022.

Dr Sampathkumar delivered a brilliant presentation of her research - the use of probiotics and Nutraceuticals in fish feed. Probiotics in fish diet have been shown to improve the growth and immunity in fishes. Natural compounds with potent antipathogenic properties, referred to as Nutraceuticals are also being studied to improve fish immunity. This work explores the possibility of combining the use of the probiotics and nutraceuticals in fish diets which could be used to replace traditional vaccines in fishes to combat bacterial infections.

About Three Minute Thesis (3MT)

3MT is a research communication competition that showcases academic and research skills. Participants have three minutes to present a compelling presentation on their research and its significance. The competition format challenges participants to consolidate their ideas and research discoveries to explain their research in language appropriate to a lay audience.

Our heartiest congratulations to Dr Sampathkumar!
