Abstract
In response to the challenges of the new era, the effective cultivation of high-quality innovative talent is essential, with a core focus on enhancing individuals’ diversified capabilities and advancement pathways. This presentation introduces the talent-friendly features of the education system in the United States and the ecosystem of discipline-based education research that support the sustained advancement and talent fostering in STEM learning. It also explores international trends concerning educational goals in the new era and discusses the implications for curriculum innovation and development in the context of Asia. By drawing on and integrating international experience through localized adaptation and optimization, the research aims to better serve educational objectives of the Asian community.
Biography

Southeast University
Dr Lei Bao is a Professor at the Research Center for Learning Science at Southeast University, China. He also serves as the Vice President of the Global Chinese Association for Science Education (GCASE) and the immediate past president of the International Organization of Chinese Physicists and Astronomers (OCPA). Formerly a Professor of Physics at The Ohio State University, his research interests encompass Physics and STEM education, cognitive sciences, AI-enabled learning, international education comparison, and complex system modeling. He has directed multiple projects funded by the U.S. NSF and NIH, with key research outcomes published in prestigious journals such as Science.
