Multi-faceted Low-dimensional Halide Perovskites by Professor Sayan Bhattacharyya

24 Oct 2025 10.00 AM - 11.00 AM MSE Meeting Room (N4.1-01-28) Alumni, Current Students

NTU MSE Seminar Hosted by Prof Nripan Mathews

Abstract

Low-dimensional halide perovskites featuring 'molecular-level' dimensional reduction exhibit enhanced resistance to moisture and heat compared to their three-dimensional counterparts for a plethora of applications ranging from photovoltaics, optoelectronics, photocatalysis, spintronics, actuators, chemical storage and sensing.1-7 In these systems, the hydrophobic alkyl ammonium spacers separate the inorganic octahedral layers, giving rise to tunable structure-property correlations, depending on the organic and inorganic counterparts. These systems can be stabilized in the form of single crystals or nanostructures via the hot-injection technique. This lecture will show a superspace investigation of the stacking faults in a Ruddlesden-Popper nanoplatelet superlattice, reversible gas storage and light-triggered rhythmic ballet of the nanoplatelets.
