Dr Ron Swift is Vice President of Global R&D at the Proctor and Gamble corporation. He graduated with a BS with Honors in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill in 1987 and his PhD in Organic Chemistry from the same University in 1992. During his 33 years in Proctor and Gamble he has worked across a range of categories (Fabric Care, New Business Development, Baby Care, Feminine Care and Family Care) as well as multiple sub disciplines of R&D (Surfactant design, Products Research, Analytical). Highlights of his career include the creation of the High Efficiency Laundry Category in 1996, the launch of Tide with a Touch of Downy, and the Design Brief for Tide Pods to name a few. Innovations he has led have resulted in more than $4B in business growth for P&G over his career. In 2012 Dr. Swift transitioned into leadership of the Analytical Discipline for P&G. His current group supports high end analytical measurement and method development across the company and product analytical/life sciences for Baby Care, Feminine Care and Family Care.
