Biotech Clinic

LKCMedicine OIE has established a Biotech Clinic within LKC School of Medicine to support faculty to move their basic research into translational research. We provide support in terms of mentoring on strategy development, product development, startup formation etc. This mentorship will be provided by OIE staff, external mentor(s), network partners as well as database resources.

LKCMedicine OIE has onboarded Dr Deborah Chen, the Director of Cairnhill Pharma as one of the external mentors of this biotech clinic. Dr Chen is a Biopharma leader with extensive experience in drug discovery and early phase clinical development. She is an enterprising mindset with excellent problem solving and project management skills. She has over 20 years of industry experience across oncology, neurosciences and rare diseases. She is also proficient in scientific and business planning and execution and has a successful track record in global cross-functional team leadership, line management and developing talent. Her areas of expertise include but not limited to drug discovery, medicinal chemistry, clinical development, business development etc.

Cortellis Drug Discovery Intelligence Database and the Cortellis Competitive Intelligence Database

As part of biotech clinic, LKCMed OIE has subscribed to the Cortellis Drug Discovery Intelligence Database and the Cortellis Competitive Intelligence Database that can be used by LKCMed faculty.

The Drug Discovery Intelligence database is a Scientifically-Focused drug R&D database, created by the scientists, for scientists containing data on 700,000+ small molecules and biologics to help understand the competitive landscape around a target or therapy area, benchmark experimental performance of compounds and experiments with animal models, make early research decisions with more confidence.
