Distinguished University Professor Gao Huajian receives the 2023 ASME Medal for his contributions to fundamental solid mechanics and the emerging field of mechanomaterials at the interface of solid mechanics, structure mechanics, mechanics of materials, biology and data science.

About the ASME Medal:

ASME Medal, established in 1920, is the highest award that the American Society of Mechanical Engineers can bestow and is to recognize “eminently distinguished engineering achievement.” Only one ASME Medal may be awarded annually.
