All students are to register for themselves the course(s) they wish to study via the Graduate Course Registration System within the stipulated course registration period. It is the responsibility of all students to check and ensure that the courses are correctly registered.

All students register for courses in the following order of priority.
(i) Coursework Students choosing courses offered by their own programme of study

(iii) Research Students
Students in groups (ii) and (iii) will be placed on a waiting list. Their registered courses will be confirmed on 26 January 2026.

Notes:
- Priority is given to Coursework students registering courses offered by their own programme of study.
- Please take note that all cross-programme application is subjected to the approval of programme director and class size availability.
- All registration of graduate courses outside the prescribed curriculum will have to be done online via the Graduate Course Registration System during the stipulated course registration periods.
- All students are entitled to a maximum of 2 cross programme (optional) throughout their candidature.
MSc Students may register up to 5 courses (including cross-registered courses) for FULL-TIME MSc STUDENTS and up to 3 courses (including cross-registered courses) for PART-TIME MSc STUDENTS.

Implications - Please note:
- All registration of courses must be completed within the stipulated period, after which students will not be allowed to add or drop any courses.
- Students who do not register officially for courses they wish to take will not be allowed to sit for the examination.
- A course dropped within the registration periods will not appear in the result slip and official transcript.
- Request for course withdrawal (“W” grade) should reach MAE Graduate Studies Office by Teaching Week 10.
- A student who is still registered for a course after the deadline for withdrawal of courses but did not subsequently sit for assessments or examination will be deemed to have read and failed the course. An “F” grade will be awarded for the course.
- Request for course fee waiver will NOT be granted for course withdrawals made after 02 February 2026 at 12:00 PM.
Examination

Students are required to sit for an examination at the end of each semester for each of the courses registered in a particular semester. A student who does not register or who have registered but fails to take any examination for which he is eligible to sit shall be deemed to have sat and failed the examination.
A student who is absent from an examination on medical grounds should submit the medical report through the Online MC Submission Application portal by Logging in using SSO or submit the medical report and original medical certificate to One Stop@SAC within two (2) working days of absence form the day of examination. The medical certificate must be issued by a medical practitioner who is registered with the Singapore Medical Council. The MC issued by the Medical Practitioner must indicate:
- MC issue date. This date must be the date of your visit
- The name and signature of the attending doctor
(For digital MCs issued, ensure the attending doctor’s name is printed on the MC)
Compassionate Leave
In the event of death in your immediate family (defined to include parents, siblings and grandparents), you may decide whether to proceed with your scheduled examination(s). If you decide not to take the examination(s), please inform your School immediately. Leave of absence on compassionate grounds will be granted for absence from any examination(s) within 7 days of the death (starting from the day of death, and inclusive of Saturday, Sunday and Public Holiday). The form for Application for Compassionate Leave for Examination duly filled up, together with a copy of the death certificate, must be submitted to One Stop @ SAC latest by the 2nd working day after the examination period.
REGISTRATION/ SEALING OF CALCULATORS
- You are required to register your calculator before you can use it during the examinations.
- Please register your calculator during the registration hours and at the venue stated below. You can authorize another person to register your calculator on your behalf.

- For current students, if you have previously registered your calculator and the seal is intact, you are not required to re-register.
- Please note that only calculators in the approved list can be registered. Please click HERE for the list of approved calculators.
- Students are responsible for clearing any information and/or programs stored in the graphic calculators before the examination.
Leave of Absence (LoA)
Students should refer to our dedicated website for details of the academic and financial implications of students who did not submit their application for the semester Leave of Absence (LoA).
- Students must apply for leave of absence and granted approval by the School before the start of the semester if they are not registering for any courses in any term of study and/or are not working on their dissertation/ thesis.
- Students who are granted leave of absence are not allowed to fulfil any University requirements such as attend classes or work on or submit their dissertation/thesis.
- Students who applied LoA after the second week of the semester shall be liable for fees due for the entire semester. To retain their name in the matriculation register, a non-refundable administrative fee of $53.50 (inclusive of GST) per semester will be levied upon the approval of leave of absence.
- For the days you are unable to attend lectures due to valid reasons (e.g. illness or an overseas trip arranged by your employer), you will need to apply for a leave of absence through the Graduate Student Leave System (For Coursework Students) and Please submit the supporting documents (e.g., medical certificate issued by your doctor, employer's email regarding the travel arrangement, travel itinerary, etc.). All documents must be in English. If a document is not in English, please upload both the original and its English translation. LOA applications without supporting documents will not be processed.
- Please indicate the affected course(s) in the remarks section of the LOA system.
- Additionally, it is your responsibility to notify your course coordinators regarding your absence from lecture(s). This is because most of our course coordinators will hold their Continuous Assessments (CAs) during lectures, and the CA marks will be counted towards your final examination grade.
For LOA applications submitted with supporting documents, processing will take at least five working days from the date of receipt. You will be notified of the outcome via your NTU student email address.
Application for leave of absence will not be considered if:
- Leave period is beyond maximum candidature.
- Leave period is during students’ extended candidature, as the extended candidature is to allow them to complete their study.
- Leave period is during official University examination period (including Revision Week) for students who have registered for course(s) in the term of study.
- Reasons are not clearly indicated and without the support of relevant documents.
- Students submit their leave application after the leave period has started or ended, with the exception of Compassionate, Outpatient Medical, Hospitalization and Maternity Leave.
For students who submit their leave application after the leave period has started or ended, their leave will not be considered, and their tuition fees paid will not be refunded.
Full-time international students are to observe the Rules and Regulations as spelt out by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority of Singapore (ICA) which issues the Student’s Pass.
Full-time international students who are on leave of absence for a consecutive period of more than one term (for PG Coursework students) are to cancel their Student's Pass as required by the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA) and apply for a new Student's Pass via One-Stop Portal before they resume studies. Option of Study
Students enrolled in the MSc (PM) programme are allowed to choose to complete the programme of study by:
Option 1: Coursework and Dissertation (default for intakes up to AY2023); OR
Students must complete the eight Core courses within the programme and submit a Dissertation on an approved project.
*Please note that MSc PM students from intakes up to AY2023 will automatically be assigned the default Option 1 - Coursework and Dissertation. If you wish to apply for Option 2: Coursework only, you must apply for conversion using the Application for Conversion of Option of Study. The conversion deadlines are by 30th November (if you are planning to enroll MA6088 in subsequent Semester 2), or 30th May (if you are planning to enroll MA6088 in subsequent Semester 1).
Option 2: Coursework Only (default for intakes from AY2024)
Students must complete ten courses from the list of core and elective courses specified for the programme.
*Please note that MSc PM students from AY2024 intakes onwards will automatically be assigned the default Option 2 - Coursework Only. If you wish to apply for Option 1: Coursework and Dissertation, you must apply using the Application for Conversion of Option of Study by Week 16th of your first Semester (PT students: by end of second Semester, Week 16). Course Details
- Classes for MSc PM programme have a Blended Learning format. Please refer to the circulated Timetable for course details.
- Classes for electives from other MSc programmes are usually held in the evenings (7pm to 9.50pm) on weekdays. Each course is covered in 39 hours and usually consists of 13 lectures of 3 hours each.

Option of Study

Course Details
- Continuous Assessment (CA) will also take place throughout the 13 teaching weeks of the course. The types of CA that course coordinator(s) may choose from include essays, assignments, quizzes, individual projects, group work, seminar presentations and etc. All CA grades will be taken into account in the calculation of the overall grade for the course.
- Most examinations are held during office hours at the end of each semester. For more information on examinations process at NTU, please check the NTU Office of Academic Services website.
