CoHASS Welcomes Future Changemakers at NTU Open House 2026

The College of Humanities, Arts and Social Sciences (CoHASS) warmly welcomed thousands of prospective students and their families to NTU Open House 2026, held on 28 February. Across the College, visitors experienced the vibrancy, intellectual diversity, and student‑centred, inter-disciplinary learning that define a CoHASS education, through engaging conversations with faculty members, student ambassadors, and immersive programme showcases.

 

A Shared Commitment to Discovery and Dialogue

Across all the booths of the CoHASS Schools at Nanyang Auditorium, Open House visitors had a chance to experience programme exhibitions that showcased disciplinary breadth, faculty‑led talks offering insights into academic pathways, and enthusiastic student ambassadors who shared candid perspectives on campus life and learning at NTU.

These interactions formed the heart of the Open House experience - creating spaces for meaningful dialogue about academic interests, interdisciplinary possibilities, and future career pathways grounded in the humanities, social sciences, communication, and the arts.

The School of Humanities presented vibrant exhibition booths highlighting its Bachelor of Arts (Hons) programmes across its core disciplines: Art History, Chinese, English, History, Linguistics & Multilingual Studies, and Philosophy. Faculty members delivered engaging mini‑lectures that offered visitors a glimpse into the intellectual depth and critical inquiry central to a humanities education. The School of Social Sciences showcased its 13 direct‑entry undergraduate programmes. Through dedicated programme talks and booth engagements, visitors explored the breadth of the social sciences, interdisciplinary learning pathways, and the wide‑ranging applications of social science training. Over at the Wee Kim Wee School of Communication and Information (WKWSCI) booth, visitors learnt more about its dynamic world of media, communication, and creativity. Prospective students also engaged directly with “WeeKids”, attended programme sharing sessions, and explored WKWSCI’s facilities to experience student life firsthand.

The School of Art, Design & Media wowed prospective students with immersive experience at its lab as part of special school tours conducted on the day. Faculty members and student volunteers engaged prospective students through conversations about creative practice, interdisciplinary learning, and the possibilities of an arts education within a research‑intensive university.

Together, the four Schools in CoHASS brought the energy which saw faculty members and student ambassadors connecting with more visitors, sharing personal experiences and insights into academic life, campus culture, and opportunities beyond the classroom. The booths were lively platforms for thoughtful exchanges between prospective students, parents, faculty members, and student ambassadors, and such informal interactions offered a behind‑the‑scenes look at the CoHASS experience.

Looking Ahead
