Dual degree (NTU x Shanghai Jiao Tong University)

NTU–SJTU Dual Degree Programme

Dual/Double Degree

The NTU–SJTU Dual Degree Programme is a landmark collaboration between Nanyang Technological University (NTU), Singapore and Shanghai Jiao Tong University (SJTU), China — two of Asia's leading engineering universities. This is the first programme at NTU where students can earn degrees from two top universities within a single four-year candidature.

Students in the EEE dual degree track will graduate with two Bachelor of Engineering degrees — one from NTU and one from SJTU — gaining deep technical expertise alongside cross-cultural fluency and dual alumni and industry networks spanning Singapore and China.

NTU Degree Awarded Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Electronic Engineering)
SJTU Degree Awarded Bachelor of Engineering (Electrical and Computer Engineering) from SJTU
Duration 4 years (2 years NTU + 2 years SJTU)
Campus (NTU) NTU Singapore, Jurong West
Campus (SJTU) Minhang Campus, Shanghai, China
Internship Mandatory 10-week internship — completable in Singapore or China
Open to Students seeking admission in Academic Year 2026/2027
SJTU Partner School Zhangjiang International College of Science and Technology

How to Apply

Students apply for admission to NTU through the standard undergraduate admissions process. Eligible students who wish to be considered for the dual degree track should indicate their interest through the admissions application.

• Step 1: Apply to NTU through the Office of Admissions (OA) — indicate interest in the Dual Degree Programme
• Step 2: Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview with the NTU selection panel
• Step 3: Successful candidates will be offered a placement in the dual degree programme with NTU, and a conditional placement* with SJTU.

*Candidates will be required to meet additional admission requirements by SJTU. The final placement offer by SJTU will be made by February of the following year of admission (Year 1, Semester 2, Week 6).

Singapore and China play complementary and powerful roles in the global economy. Singapore is a high-value R&D, finance, and global business hub; China has one of the most dynamic engineering, manufacturing, and technology bases in the world. This programme draws on the best of both.

Graduates will be equipped for careers in:
• Green energy and sustainability
• Artificial intelligence and data science
• Semiconductors and advanced manufacturing

Beyond technical depth, students will graduate with cross-cultural fluency, bilingual professional competency, and access to an unrivalled network of NTU and SJTU alumni and industry partners across the Asia-Pacific region.
