SCSE Alumni Talk Series – Business Opportunities in Artificial Intelligence & Data Science @ NTU Alumni House @ one-north

The SCSE alumni and their guests gathered together on 17 March 2018 for 2nd in the series of SCSE Alumni Talk Series – Business Opportunities in Artificial Intelligence (AI) & Data Science held at NTU Alumni House @ One-North. 

SCSE Asst Chair (Alumni), Assoc Prof Cong Gao, attended and graced the event. The event was aimed at strengthening the bond and network amongst the alumni and for them to learn more about the trends in AI and data science and the business opportunities in this field. It drew over 80 strong participant attendance.

Mr Yap highlighted the recent research advances in AI and its industrial implications. Mr Abhishek shared the phases of creating AI platform, the challenges faced by AI industries and the possible partnerships with industries such as transport, manufacturing and healthcare. Dr Kelvin shared his perspectives on the key factors for a successful data scientist. Lastly, Mr Dave pointed out NTUitive services and the grants that SCSE Alumni can tap on.

The SCSE Alumni and their guests fully enjoyed the sharing session and posed several questions to the speakers. Many of them stayed on to chat and continue to learn from the speakers. SCSE Asst Chair (Alumni ), Assoc Prof Cong Gao, and SCSE Alumni Association (AA) Vice President, Mr Zhang Mingqian, Francois (CS, Class of 2014), presented tokens of appreciation to the distinguished speakers and moderator of the session to end off the session.
