Redefining the Future of Work: NTU Students Harness GenAI

Future of Work GenAI Augmentation Challenge 2025

The future of work came alive at NTU as students showcased how Generative AI can transform professions at the Future of Work: GenAI Augmentation Challenge 2025.

Jointly organised by the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS)’s Innovation Lab (iLab) and the A*STAR Centre for Frontier AI Research (CFAR), the challenge tasked teams of three – at least two from CCDS – to reimagine how GenAI streamline tasks, boost productivity, or create entirely new opportunities across industries.

Prize Winners

First Prize -PhysioBuddy,

Future of Work GenAI Augmentation Challenge 2025 1st Prize Team PhysioBuddyCCDS students Aiya Sukkho, Huang Kaibao and Er Jia Liang Sean developed PhysioBuddy, a mobile app that lightens physiotherapists’ administrative work while giving patients better recovery support. It combines AI chatbots for after-care questions, remote video feedback, and real-time progress tracking. Inspired by friends’ struggles with sports injuries, the team said the win validated their belief in AI’s potential to improve healthcare while strengthening their own teamwork and technical skills.

Second Prize - Forecite,

Future of Work GenAI Augmentation Challenge 2025 2nd Prize Team Forecite

Raghav Narayanswamy, Angel Chan Jin Xuan and Luar Shui Yan created Forecite, a tool that automates legal research, drafts arguments, and generates counterarguments, freeing lawyers to focus on strategy and case-building.

Third Prize - CAIBER,

Future of Work GenAI Augmentation Challenge 2025 3rd Prize Team Caiber

Vihaan Motwani, Alok Vernekar and Pratham Mehra built CAIBER, which tackles cybersecurity by automating the intelligence cycle; from knowledge graphs to attack path modelling; for faster, more actionable insights.

Beyond the Winners

Students impressed with ideas spanning healthcare, humanitarian aid, urban planning, content creation and more. Distinction Awards went to GeoGuardians, which uses satellite imagery and multilingual AI to speed up aid delivery, and Urban AI, which reimagines urban planning with AI-powered document analysis and AR tools for community engagement. Merit Awards were presented to NJS, Muse, URBANized, project-pulse and InsureBot, each offering fresh takes on how AI could transform industries ranging from criminal investigations to insurance.

Student Reflections

For iLab Student President Joey Lim, the most striking aspect was how naturally teams saw AI as a partner, not a replacement – taking on repetitive tasks so professionals can focus judgment and creativity.

She added that every team chose problems that mattered personally to them.“This forward-thinking approach is what will set people apart in future careers,” she said.

More than a competition, the challenge showcased how NTU students are ready to turn bold ideas into real change.
