CCDS In Motion: Continuity, momentum, and people at the centre

As the new semester begins, the College of Computing and Data Science (CCDS) finds itself in motion – not paused, not disrupted, but moving forward with clarity and intent.

In recent weeks, CCDS has transitioned some of its physical spaces as part of longer-term campus developments. Faculty and administrative offices previously located at N4 have relocated to S3, while the core academic work of the College remains firmly rooted. Teaching labs continue to operate in N4, research laboratories remain in their existing locations, and classes are proceeding as scheduled.

What this means, in practical terms, is continuity.

Teaching, learning, and research at CCDS continue uninterrupted. Students’ academic experience remains stable, and the rhythms of the semester carry on as usual. The transition has been designed to support this continuity, ensuring that while spaces evolve, the work that defines CCDS does not.

Behind the scenes, this moment has called for adaptability. Faculty and staff now move between spaces as part of their daily routines – teaching, mentoring, supervising research, and supporting students across locations. Administrative teams continue to provide the same level of support, even as their offices shift. These adjustments are largely invisible to students, and that is precisely the point.

CCDS is not defined by a single building. It is defined by its people and by the work they do every day: educating students, advancing research, and contributing to the broader computing and data science ecosystem. The current transition reflects this understanding – that institutions grow and adapt not by standing still, but by maintaining momentum through change.

This momentum is guided by a clear sense of what must remain constant.

Even as technologies evolve, CCDS’s approach to teaching remains anchored in strong fundamentals and disciplined thinking. These foundations continue to define how students learn, are assessed, and are prepared for long-term relevance in computing and data science.

Looking ahead, the semester is well underway. Teaching and research continue at full pace, students remain engaged in their academic journeys, and new initiatives will unfold over the coming weeks. Through it all, CCDS remains focused on what matters most: its people, its purpose, and the work ahead.

CCDS is in motion – steady, thoughtful, and moving forward.

Undergraduate Administrative Support

The CCDS Undergraduate Office has relocated to S3. To ensure timely support, students are encouraged to email the Undergraduate Office for all queries and appointment requests.

As there is no front desk at S3, walk-in consultations are discouraged. Students who require in-person assistance will be guided accordingly after contacting the office via email.

For the latest contact details and role-based email addresses, please refer to the CCDS Contact Us page.
