NTU-CCTF and Central China Normal University Successfully Conclude Comprehensive Workshop on Enhancing the Intelligent Teaching Capabilities
From September 20 to October 1, 2024, Nanyang Technological University's Centre for Computational Technologies in Finance (NTU-CCTF) and Central China Normal University (CCNU) have successfully concluded a comprehensive 12-day workshop focused on enhancing intelligent teaching capabilities, marking another milestone in the long-standing educational collaboration between the two prestigious institutions.
The "2024 Central China Normal University Comprehensive Workshop on Enhancing the Intelligent Teaching Capabilities," hosted by NTU Centre in Computational Technologies for Finance, brought together leading educators and researchers from both universities to explore cutting-edge developments in educational technology and AI-enhanced learning methodologies

Professor Wen Yonggang, Professor and President's Chair at College of Computing and Data Science, Director of Centre for Computational Technologies in Finance, delivered the opening ceremony address, emphasizing the importance of international collaboration in advancing educational innovation.
The intensive program featured a diverse array of academic activities designed to provide participants with both theoretical knowledge and practical experience in modern educational technologies. The programme included:

- NTU Blockchain Symposium 2024 Participation: A two-day academic feast where participants attended the international symposium featuring keynote speakers and leading experts in blockchain technology and educational applications.
- Educational Information Technology Sessions: Covering future education paradigms, data-driven decision making, and AI applications in education.

- Cross-disciplinary Education: Exploring interdisciplinary graduate learning and integrated STEM education approaches.
- Cutting-edge Technology Applications: Sessions on advanced AI applications, learning analytics, and technological pedagogical design.
- Innovation and Research: Visits to NTU InsPIRE (Institute for Pedagogical Innovation, Research & Excellence) and hands-on workshops at the Science of Learning in Education Centre.
- Cultural Immersion: Educational visits to Singapore's Urban Redevelopment Authority Centre and comprehensive exploration of Singapore's educational landscape.
The workshop featured presentations from distinguished faculty members and researchers covering cutting-edge topics in educational technology:

Associate Professor Cai Yiyu from NTU's School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering and Deputy Director of the Center for Augmented and Virtual Reality delivered insights on "Future Education: How Technology Empowers University Classroom Teaching Experience."

Associate Professor Li Yi, Programme Director of Master of Science in Blockchain and Associate Director of Centre for Computational Technologies in Finance from NTU's College of Computing and Data Science, demonstrated "Blockchain Technology Applications in Education."

Assistant Professor Yan Zhenzhen from NTU's School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences shared expertise on "The Power of Data in Decision Making."

Dr Ho Shen Yong from NTU's School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences led participants through "NTU InsPIRE Visit and Exchange: Exploring the Possible Futures of Universities."

Professor Shen Zexiang, Associate Dean of NTU Graduate School, discussed "Exploring Interdisciplinary Graduate Learning in the Innovation Era."

Associate Professor Tan Aik Ling from the National Institute of Education presented on "Integrated STEM Learning in Schools: Structure, Promises, and Challenges."

Associate Professor Zhang Hanwang from NTU's College of Computing and Data Science demonstrated "Punchline in Flow."

Associate Professor Wu Wei, School of Social Sciences NTU, shared insights on "Leadership Art in University Internationalization: Singapore Experience Sharing.

Associate Professor Chen Wenli from the National Institute of Education presented on "Preparing Future-ready Collaborative Learners: Technological and Pedagogical Design.

Dr. Jack and Dr. Elizabeth from the Science of Learning in Education Centre conducted the "Teaching Neuroscience Workshop" featuring technology demonstrations and learning analytics.

Associate Professor Tan Seng Chee, Associate Dean for Professional & Leadership Development at Office of Graduate Studies and Professional Learning and Provost's Chair in Education from the National Institute of Education, explored "Approaches to AI for Education."

Dr. Tay Hui Yong, Senior Lecturer from the National Institute of Education, provided insights on "Educational Assessment Related Topics."

Associate Professor Andy Khong Wai Hoong from NTU's School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering delivered professional instruction on "Learning Analytics."
Associate Professor Wang Qiyun from the National Institute of Education presented visions for "Future Classroom & Future Learning: Educational Future Under AI - Insights from Innovative Education."
Both institutions demonstrated their shared commitment to advancing educational innovation through technology integration. The program emphasized practical applications of AI and emerging technologies in educational settings, preparing participants to implement these innovations in their home institutions.
As participants returned to their respective institutions following the September 20 - October 1, 2024 programme, they carry with them new knowledge, methodologies, and international perspectives that will contribute to the continued advancement of intelligent teaching practices. The success of this workshop reinforces the value of international collaboration in educational development and sets the stage for future joint initiatives.
