NTU MSBT 2025 Aug Intake Capstone Briefing Successfully Held

The Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Centre in Computational Technologies for Finance (CCTF) successfully hosted the 2025 MSBT August Intake Capstone Briefing Meeting. The two sessions, held on 12 and 17 September 2025, brought together distinguished professors from NTU and industry leaders representing companies from Singapore, Mainland China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and the United States. The event provided a dynamic platform for students, faculty, and partners to exchange ideas and explore opportunities for collaboration on blockchain innovation projects.

The briefing opened with remarks from Dr. Teoh Teik Toe, Academic Director and Senior Lecturer at NTU, who introduced the SC6131 Blockchain Innovation Project and highlighted the importance of industry-academia collaboration in advancing blockchain research and applications.

Academic & Industry Contributions

Over the two days, participants heard from both academic experts and leading companies in the blockchain and technology ecosystem.

  • Academic Contributions: Prof. Guo Jian, Prof. Liu Yang, Prof. Li Yi, and Prof.Wang Yong from NTU shared insights into the latest research directions and potential areas for student involvement.

 

  • Industry Partners: 13 companies and project teams, including A*STAR IHPC, Zero Gravity Labs, HashKey Capital,Sight AI and The Great Bay University (via video introductions), showcased their projects and highlighted opportunities for collaboration with MSBT students. These companies, spanning across Singapore, Mainland China, Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (HKSAR), and the United States, also provide students with opportunities to enhance their skills in Distributed Ledger Technology (DLT), Smart Contracts, Blockchain Platforms, Decentralized Applications (DApps), Tokenization, Legal and Ethical Implications, as well as essential soft skills.

 

  • Networking & Collaboration Opportunities: Following the presentations, participants engaged in networking sessions, fostering valuable exchanges between students, faculty, and industry representatives. These interactions provided MSBT students with a clearer understanding of potential capstone projects and career pathways in blockchain and emerging technologies.

 

The Capstone Briefing Meeting marks a significant step in connecting NTU students with real-world projects, strengthening the bridge between academic research and industry practice.
