Nurturing an Active Alumni Community

Sports have an undeniable power to bring people together. Beyond the thrill of competition and the rush of adrenaline, they create shared experiences, foster teamwork, and strengthen bonds.

At NBS, we believe that sports play a vital role in nurturing an active and connected alumni community, one built on camaraderie, well-being, and the simple joy of play. Recognising the value of both fitness and fellowship, the NBS Alumni Relations Office has been organising a range of sports activities to keep our alumni engaged, energised, and connected.

Staying Active, Staying Connected

Since 2022, our bi-monthly alumni hikes have brought participants to scenic routes across Singapore, from the lush Singapore Botanic Gardens to the coastal trails of Sentosa. These outings offer an opportunity to unwind in nature while reconnecting with fellow alumni.

Building on this momentum, we also host quarterly badminton events that draw both seasoned players and enthusiastic beginners, with about 40 alumni participating in each session.

This year also saw the launch of a new initiative — the inaugural Table Tennis Friendly Match, held on 25 August 2025, marking another exciting addition to our growing sports calendar.

NBS Game On

Our commitment to fostering an active community culminated in NBS Game On, held on 13 September 2025 at The Wave, NTU. Featuring three sports — badminton, basketball, and table tennis, the event brought together alumni, faculty, staff, and students for a spirited day of friendly competition and connection.

Defending the Shield, Strengthening Our Spirit

Having identified our strongest players through various sports activities throughout the year, NBS achieved exceptional results at the recent NTU Alumni Sports Challenge, held as part of the NTU Alumni Homecoming activities on 11 October 2025.

NBS excelled across all three sports, sweeping 1st to 4th place in badminton, and clinching 2nd in basketball and 3rd in table tennis.

For the second consecutive year, NBS proudly brought home the NTU Alumni Sports Challenge Shield — a recognition of our collective achievements in both the Homecoming games and Best Foot Forward, NTU’s annual fitness and philanthropy initiative.

Building Bonds Beyond the Court

These successes are a testament to the excellence, passion, and unity of our alumni. But beyond medals and trophies, it’s the friendships, laughter, and shared memories that truly define our community spirit.
