This programme is designed for students who wish to pursue careers in the finance sector and for professionals already working in the industry. Students without a degree in finance are welcome to apply.
Students without a finance background are warmly welcomed. The programme is also suitable for students without prior financial training to progressively grasp and apply financial concepts, theories and skills. Successful applicants should be able to complete the programme with a positive attitude and conscientious study.
Academic qualifications are not the only criteria. NTU considers talented students from any educational background. Other criteria include work experience, leadership quality and potential in the finance industry.
Yes, either GMAT or GRE is a prerequisite. 
Please note that there are no minimum score requirements for GMAT or GRE. 
Yes, you may. However, you should take the test before the closing deadline. You should also indicate in the application form your GMAT/GRE test date so that we know when to expect your score report. Please upload your unofficial scores as soon as you receive them and update the programme office via email.
IELTS or TOEFL is required if the medium of instruction during your undergraduate studies was not exclusively in English.
Although work experience is preferred, it is not a mandatory requirement.
Final-year undergraduates are welcome to apply with a university academic record and certification (certifying the date of graduation and the type of degree to be awarded).
Only completed applications will be assessed. An application is considered complete when we have received all supporting documents, information and application fee.
Only those who are successfully shortlisted will be invited for an interview.

Interviews are usually conducted in Singapore, Beijing and Shanghai or online.

Applicants living in Singapore will be interviewed at NTU. The interview will be conducted in English and Chinese. Applicants who are unable to attend the interview can also apply for a zoom interview. 


Generally, we do not allow successful applicants to defer their study. Therefore, applicants are strongly encouraged to consider carefully before applying.

If there are extenuating circumstances, applicants may request a deferment with the Admissions Office. This should be supplemented with supporting documents.
Due to the large number of applications we receive for each intake, we might not be able to offer explanations for unsuccessful applications.

Students are required to obtain 36 academic units at Nanyang Business School. Those who successfully complete all the course requirements will be awarded the Master of Science in Finance degree by Nanyang Technological University, Singapore.
New students may apply to the University for on-campus accommodation. If the application is successful, they will be granted accommodation for up to one academic year*. Students are to bear the cost of the room rental. Please refer  here for more information.
