1st Runner-up in Shell Imagine the Future Regional Competition 2018

About the competition: Scenarios provide plausible alternative views of the future. Building and using scenarios can help us explore what the future might look like and the likely changes of living in it. SHELL created this competition to understand what the future would look like in 2050, especially how Asia-Pacific countries would live, work and play alongside the implications towards our energy consumption and sources.

Description: We presented a proposal where the future can have two routes, the first route: the reactive route, the second route: proactive route.

In the “Reactive” scenario, we imagine a world where Singapore responds directly to the challenges faced. Reactive is defined as “acting in response to a situation”. Hence, a reactive response takes the most direct approach in problem solving.

In the “Proactive” scenario, we imagine a world where Singapore responds to challenges faced with disruption. Proactive is defined as “creating or controlling a situation”. A proactive response involves taking action by causing change and not only reacting to change when it happens.
