On The Image Conference 2026

On The Image Conference 2026 is held from 1 to 2 October 2026 both at the Nanyang Technological University Singapore and online.

The Seventeenth International Conference on The Image calls for research addressing the following annual themes:

• 2026 Special Focus - The Image as Advocate: Shaping Cultural Conversations
• Theme 1: The Form of The Image
• Theme 2: Image Work
• Theme 3: The Image in Society
• Theme 4: Creative and Cultural Technologies
• Theme 5: Ordinary Practice and Collective Behaviours

The Local Chair of the conference this year is Lisa Winstanley, Associate Professor and Associate Chair (Research) at the NTU School of Art, Design and Media.
