Distinguished Faculty
NTU Singapore continues to grow in global stature and impact as a result of the remarkable accomplishments of the faculty in research, education and innovation that benefit knowledge creation, industry and society. The Distinguished University Professor is the highest honour given to a faculty member at NTU in recognition of his/her scholarly and scientific achievements in research. A key mechanism to recognise the achievements of early-career, mid-career and senior faculty members is through named chair professorships.
Distinguished University Professors are eminent faculty members with extraordinary scholarly achievement who typically cross multiple disciplinary boundaries. This prestigious appointment, the highest faculty rank at NTU, is based on academic distinction and broader professional accomplishments. At any given time, there will be no more than 12 Distinguished University Professors.

Nanyang Professors of the Practice (NPoP) under the Visiting Professor scheme are appointed for their ability to advise on strategic areas of development identified by the University, for which the University is proud to be associated with. These are well-established professionals holding Senior Management/Executive level appointment and who have a high level of expertise and skills in their respective fields.
As a sub-scheme of NPoP, the Nanyang Professors of the Practice (Clinical) (NPoP-Clinical) are appointments accorded to outstanding clinicians for their ability to advise, inspire and share their experience with faculty members and / or students on strategic areas of development. With clinical mastery, outstanding standards of professionalism, leadership and remarkable academic achievement, they are a role model for all who aspire to be in the academic medicine field.
