PAP spent $9.4m on GE2025 campaign against $3.6m by opposition parties

Candidates spent slightly over $13 million at the 2025 General Election in a bid to garner votes from Singaporeans, with almost half of this going to non-online advertising such as posters and banners. On the continued high proportion of spending on physical advertising, independent political observer Felix Tan said such ads can reach a wider audience. He said: “Online advertising reaches only those who have the means to do so. For instance, senior citizens and lower-income groups may not have the means or ability to access online resources.” Online ads are also highly targeted, noted Dr Tan, who lectures at NTU’s School of Social Sciences.
