Rikkyo University Students and Faculty Visit SSS@NTU for Study Abroad Programme

From 1–3 September, the School of Social Sciences (SSS) at Nanyang Technological University (NTU) welcomed students and faculty from Rikkyo University, Japan, as part of their study abroad programme.

The three-day visit provided the visiting students with an opportunity to gain a deeper understanding of Psychology at NTU while experiencing the academic and student environment at SSS. The programme included faculty talks, classroom experiences, campus tours and opportunities for meaningful interaction with members of the NTU community.

A key highlight of the visit was the engagement with SSS Student Ambassadors, who shared their experiences of studying at NTU, student life and the wider university community. Their participation provided the Rikkyo students with a first-hand perspective of life as an NTU student and added a personal dimension to the exchange.

The visit was made possible through the generous support and contributions of colleagues from the Psychology Programme. We extend our sincere appreciation to Professor Setoh Pei Pei, Head of Psychology; Professor Ho Hau Yan Andy, Provost’s Chair in Psychology; Assoc Prof Olivia Choy; Asst Prof Paul Victor Patinadan; Asst Prof Yu Junhong, Asst Prof Darren Yeo and Dr Rebecca Nichols for their time, support and contributions towards making the programme a meaningful and enriching experience for our guests.

We also thank our SSS Student Ambassadors for their enthusiasm and active participation throughout the visit. Their willingness to share their experiences and engage with the visiting students reflects the spirit of openness and community that underpins student life at SSS@NTU.

The visit was a valuable opportunity to strengthen academic and student connections between Rikkyo University and NTU, while fostering cross-cultural learning and exchange.
