How can artificial intelligence transform the way children learn, play, and grow?
The NTU School of Social Sciences is pleased to share that at the EMPOWER Science Festival 2025, themed “AI Empowering Child Development: Learning to Play & Playing to Learn”, researchers, educators, and parents came together on 22 and 23 August 2025 to explore how AI is reshaping the science of childhood.
The two-day event featured:
Day 1: Scientific Workshop (22 August @ Lee Kong Chian School of Medicine, NTU Novena Campus) – Keynote presentations, panel discussions, and poster sessions by leading experts from Singapore and beyond, highlighting the latest research in AI and child development.
Day 2: Public Science Festival (23 August @ Keppel Centre for Art Education, National Gallery Singapore) – A hands-on showcase of interactive technologies such as robotic games for rehabilitation, AI dance movement games, and digital learning avatars, demonstrating how AI can transform play and learning.
Organised by the Early Mental Potential & Wellbeing Research (EMPOWER) Centre, a University Research Institute at NTU, the festival reflects the Centre’s mission to advance interdisciplinary research that nurtures children’s mental and emotional potential during their most formative years.
