NTU Physics Discovery Camp

About the Camp

The NTU Physics Discovery Camp Program (12-14 June) enables pre-university students to discover the exciting world of physics beyond what they have learned in school. Students will learn about the physics of the largest cosmological scales, how thermodynamics informs the design of quantum information devices, as well as harnessing energy from the sun. Students will engage in NTU Physics faculty led classes, discussions on university and undergraduate life, as well as interact with NTU Physics researchers and professors throughout the program.

A key part of the program are hands-on experiments where students will build and perform experiments in NTU Physics laboratories that include firing a liquid nitrogen rocket, measuring temperatures near absolute zero, coaxing light to behave like a projectile, constructing devices at the nanoscale in a cleanroom, and simulating the fractal patterns found in "chaos".

About NTU Physics

NTU Physics, in the Nanyang Technological University (NTU) Singapore, hosts a world-class Physics Department with more than 40 active faculty engaged in intense research and interactive teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels. Its researchers push the frontiers of knowledge from quantum technology to semiconductor materials to nuclear fusion.
