Could you share with us some interesting facets of the FlexiMasters you enrolled?

The FlexiMasters in Materials Science and Engineering is specifically designed to accommodate adult learners who have work commitments, enabling us to progress through the certification at our own pace. Unlike a traditional classroom setting, most lectures of this FlexiMasters were pre-recorded and delivered online. We were informed of assessment deadlines at the start of each course, granting us the freedom to manage our time according to our own pace.

Which aspect of this FlexiMasters did you like the most?

I appreciate the flexibility offered by this FlexiMasters, allowing me to learn through standalone courses that can be stacked towards a Master's degree. These courses are eligible for SSG funding, which relieves my financial concerns. Additionally, most of the courses are accessible online, enabling me to manage my full-time work commitments more effectively.

What were the challenges you faced when trying to complete this FlexiMasters?

I had limited interaction with fellow learners in my course of study due to the online nature of the lessons. Additionally, I did not possess any prior graduate knowledge in my field of study, which made me uncertain about my ability to handle the certificate courses. However, the FlexiMasters stackable module feature has proven invaluable in helping me manage my time effectively and alleviate these uncertainties. Graduating with a Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering was made possible through credit transfer from the FlexiMasters, after successfully adapting to the programme's intensity and depth.
