Introduction

Amidst the global trend of privatising and outsourcing the management of critical infrastructures, the cybersecurity landscape has grown increasingly intricate, extending beyond the purview of cybersecurity regulators and public sectors. Central to the realm of cyber threat intelligence sharing and cooperation are Public-Private Partnerships (PPPs). Understanding the platforms, mechanisms, and protocols supporting PPP, as well as embracing best practices, is crucial for establishing neutral third-party environments to exchange intelligence regarding the Tools, Tactics, and Procedures (TTPs) employed by cybercriminals.

This course is well-suited for the advancement of existing information technology (IT) professionals aspiring to excel in the domains of cyber or data governance. It is particularly beneficial for those in the banking and finance sector, as well as other sectors engaged in e-business interactions with the banking and financial industry.

This course is part of:

- Graduate Certificate in Cybersecurity and Digital Trust
- FlexiMasters in Cybersecurity and Digital Trust

Learners are encouraged to complete the following core courses before enrolling in the remaining courses:

  1. Foundations of Cybersecurity (1 AU)
  2. Basic Cybersecurity Risk Management (1 AU)
  3. Intermediate Cybersecurity Risk Management (1 AU)

This course aims to explain cybersecurity impacts due to the global trend in privatizing and outsourcing critical infrastructure operations, as well as to introduce best practices and platforms, mechanisms and protocols for supporting PPP, which is important for sharing intelligence about TTPs used by cybercriminals. As a practical treatment, this course will also explain and introduce the many different agencies and organizations that you will come to depend upon to share best practices and real time intelligence as you grow your intelligence network e.g., International Criminal Police Organisation (INTERPOL), Financial Services Information Sharing and Analysis Cluster (FSISAC), Health Information Sharing and Analysis Cluster (HISAC), Shadowserver.

At the end of the course, learners will be able to:

  • Explain cybersecurity impacts due to the global trend in privatizing and outsourcing critical infrastructure operations.
  • Implement best practices and platforms, mechanisms and protocols for supporting PPP, which is important for sharing intelligence about TTPs used by cybercriminals.
  • Describe the many different agencies and organizations that you will come to depend upon to share best practices and real time intelligence as you grow your intelligence network e.g., INTERPOL, FSISAC, HISAC, Shadowserver.
