Introduction

Digital Currencies existing before the age of Cryptocurrencies. It exhibits properties similar to digital currencies where it can be traded and used to purchase physical goods and services. Despite its controversial position as an instrument of trade, there exist applications where digital currencies can help promote financial inclusion.


Participants will learn how to:

• Describe how digital currencies and blockchain technology are impacting global markets
• Explain the need to regulate Digital Currencies
• Discover the use of Digital Currencies beyond Fundraising

• The role of digital currencies in the market
• How blockchain enable digital currencies to work
• Importance of regulating digital currencies

The course is suitable for graduates or poly dip holders who have at least 3 years work experience

Mr Joe Tusin

Joe Tusin has over thirty years of tech industry experience comprising management consulting, enterprise software, cloud computing and mobility, and financial technology (FinTech) across the United States and Asia Pacific. Joe was the youngest Director of Research at University of California (UC) Berkeley and has deep experience in big data analytics in financial services, credit risk, and closed-loop analytical and operational customer relationship management (CRM). Joe is passionate in financial inclusion for the unbanked through the digitization, democratization, and socialization of payments with smart compliance, and in making the world a safer place from financial crimes through blockchain, AI/machine learning, and biometrics.

Dr Lillian Koh

Dr Lillian Koh is the CEO of Fintech Academy & Director at Centre of Research and Innovation at NTUitive Advisor, Singapore Digital Chamber of Commerce. After serving 17 years at the Ministry of Education and another 17 years at Nanyang Technological University, she is the CEO of Fintech Academy. Other previous appointments include Faculty Associate at A*Star, Consultant to MOE, UNESCO, NHG, Pearson, Citigroup and World Bank.
