Introduction

In this third part of the Teaching and Learning in Higher Education course, we aim to understand and apply best practices in university teaching. Through this course, you will develop a critical and reflective mindset by closely examining your own teaching and drawing insights from your students’ feedback and responses to your teaching. Finally, you will learn to assemble a Teaching Portfolio that highlights your purposeful teaching intentions and showcases the impact of your teaching.

By the end of the course, participants will be able to:

  1. Apply teaching and assessment strategies to facilitate student learning in your context.
  2. Evaluate your own teaching based on best practices for university teaching.
  3. Design and assemble your teaching portfolio to evidence the impact of your teaching.

  1. Best practice in undergraduate teaching.
  2. Impact of technology on teaching and learning.
  3. Planning a lesson.
  4. Facilitating learning.
  5. Evaluating your teaching.
  6. Increasing your impact in teaching.
  7. Showcasing your teaching.

At least 2 years of working experience in one of the following:

1. Teacher Professional Development

2. Educational Leadership

3. Higher Education

4. Continuing Education and Training

5. Other relevant adult education or management
