The course walks students through the five key stages in contract management namely, Initiate, Bid, Develop, Negotiate and Manage. In the process, the students will be equipped with a robust body of knowledge needed to successfully navigate the ever-increasing complexity and challenges in the world of contract management. The acquired knowledge is put into practice through application-oriented assignments, which will strengthen the students’ understanding of key concepts, and enrich their learning experience.

  1. Gain a holistic understanding of the procurement and contract management processes to achieve win-win contractual relationships
  2. Apply STEEP analysis to understand the market as a buyer or seller
  3. Use tools and techniques to meet the Five Key Milestones in the requirements definition process
  4. Understand the different types of bidding vehicles and the basic elements of an international contract
  5. Develop a framework for evaluating proposals
  6. Evaluate the suitability of various contract types and pricing arrangements in the context of your organizational projects
  7. Effectively plan your negotiation style and strategy
  8. Utilize proven tools and techniques to monitor contracts
  9. Proactively plan to deal with changes and disputes
  10. Application of concepts taught, to actual projects in students’ own organizations

Logistics Contract Analyst, Logistics Programme Manager, Project Engineers, Project Managers, Software Development Managers, Business Analysts and/or Non-managers who desire to move to Project Management Related roles.

Learners are strongly recommended to complete MA6081 Fundamentals of Project Management and MA6082 Management of Project Plan, Schedule and Resources as pre-requisites.

Dr Felix Lena Stephanie

Dr Felix Lena Stephanie joined the School of Mechanical and Aerospace Engineering (MAE) on 1 November 2022 as Senior Lecturer, under the Manufacturing and Industrial Engineering Cluster.

Lena has been a part-time lecturer with MAE since August 2018. She obtained a PhD in Information Studies from Nanyang Technological University (NTU). Her research interests lie primarily in the areas of e-health, disruptive technologies, and digital ecosystems. Her other qualifications include a master’s degree in Business Administration (MBA) and a bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (BE), both from Anna University, India.

She has over 25 years of total work experience spanning the areas of information technology, research, consultancy, corporate training, and academic teaching. During her illustrious career, she has successfully managed several IT, research, and consultancy projects, and has trained thousands of mid- to senior-level managers from diverse backgrounds and cultures. She has also advised and mentored master's and PhD students.

Lena, moreover, is an avid researcher who has independently presented and published her work in conferences and peer-reviewed journals respectively.

Her favorite hobbies include travelling, cycling and playing badminton.
