The objective of this course is to provide students with basic knowledge in  image and video signal processing. This course focuses on entropy coding  and image transform.

At the end of the course, learners  are expected to achieve a basic knowledge of  image and video format, entropy coding of image and video, sampling of image and video, and image and video transforms including discrete cosine  transform and discrete wavelet transform.

For engineers who wish to upgrade their technical knowledge and skills  in the area of digital media processing, which can be used in the Infocomm industry to aid in image and video processing.
