Introduction
Who is the copyeditor? This module is a practical introduction to the preparation of various forms of manuscript for electronic and/or physical publication. Practical assignments and examples are designed to mimic the real-world requirements of copy-editing include error correction, ensuring accuracy, and correcting inconsistencies in fact and design. The course may also introduce students to the elements of proofreading, stylistic editing, and structural editing.

Mr Yeow Kai Chai
Yeow Kai Chai is a poet, journalist and editor. A Master of Arts graduate in English Literature from the National University of Singapore, his poetry won first prize in poetry for two years at the NUS Literary Society Competition. His debut book, Secret Manta (2001) was adapted from a collection shortlisted for the 1995 Singapore Literature Prize and his second collection of poetry is Pretend I’m Not Here (2006).
Yeow was Assistant to Editor and music reviewer in Life!, The Straits Times, and currently serves the National Arts Council as Director of the Singapore Writers Festival. He is also an editor of Quarterly Literary Review Singapore. http://www.poetry.sg/yeow-kai-chai-bio
