Virtual Reality Experience

On 30th June 2019, 24 MAEAA alumni and family members gathered at Zero Latency, Suntec City for the Virtual Reality Experience. In the one and a half hour VR gaming session, alumni and friends had a great fun competing with each other while learning the capabilities of Virtual Reality.

The morning session started with a briefing on the game rules and the objectives of each stages. All participants donned the necessary VR equipment including the vest and headgears with the help from friendly game masters. Participants were then split into three groups of 8, in which they will be immersed in a 4v4 (players vs players) gameplay. The game, also known as Sol Raiders, requires each team to demonstrate teamwork to complete different objectives while competing against the enemy. Eliminating the opponent team would add to the score as well. Each of the three-part game saw players strategizing and screaming instructions to each other in excitement, and coming out of the games soaked in sweat.

It was a great experience for the participants, most of whom was trying their hands on virtual reality games for the first time. It was also a great get-to-know session for most alumni who did not know each other prior to the event. Alumni who are interested in MAEAA activities, please do continuously look out for our events updates via email and Facebook.
