Engineering Innovation and Design
MA2079 Engineering Innovation and Design is an integral part of the second-year MAE curriculum. The course aims to provide students an opportunity to innovate. Students are challenged to develop their own high technology business venture, produce a prototype and write a business plan. The Programme culminates in an Open House where all the projects are displayed at an exhibition and judged on their marketing potential and novelty by a panel of industrialists and venture capitalists. Prizes are awarded in each category; past prizes have been generously sponsored by companies such as ST Engineering, Housing and Development Board, Motorola and Farnell Components.
Product Development Challenge
The Product Development Challenge is a platform for students to team up and take on an open-ended project to develop a product such as a race car or a football playing robot. Students participating in the Product Development Challenge will be given the opportunity to showcase their work at international competitions.
MAE Club is one of the largest student population club in NTU with 3000 students in its constituent. The club was first established as Mechanical & Production Engineering Club, MPE Club, in 1981. Since Aerospace had joined our family in 2010, the name was changed into Mechanical & Aerospace Engineering Club. Even though undergone significant changes, our goal is the same since the beginning, that is, to provide the best in every area, for all MAE students.
MAE Club is a club run by MAE students for MAE students. The goal of the club is to provide the best, in every area, for all MAE students. The club is a fertile ground to train future leaders. Members are given the responsibility to serve, make decisions and learn how to become great leaders.
The MAE Robotics Club is a student-led community where students from different years and disciplines learn, design and build robots together. Through hands-on projects and competitions, members develop practical skills in mechanical design, electronics and programming!
NTU Aerospace Society aims to promote aviation and aviation sport in NTU as well as in Singapore. From flight simulators and RC plane workshops to hackathons and industry collaborations, Aerospace Society offers plenty of opportunities to learn, build and meet like-minded peers.
Advocates for STEM Communication, Engagement & Development (ASCEND) aims provide opportunities for mentorship, STEM Outreach, hands-on workshops and projects and leadership development. Build your portfolio while gaining valuable experiences along the way!
Engineering is stronger when diverse perspectives come together. Women of MAE (WoMAEn) connects students, alumni and faculty of NTU MAE. From career workshops and industry talks to technical workshops and community outreach, WoMAEn creates opportunities for members to learn, collaborate and grow!
Graduate life is more than experiments, deadlines, and thesis writing. The Graduate Student Club provides a space for MAE graduate students to learn, connect, and make memories beyond the lab. Join academic and professional-development sessions, cultural celebrations, sports activities and more!
