NTUpreneur Seah Jie Song shares how his overseas experience shaped his outlook as an entrepreneur

OEP (Jan 2022) student, Jie Song, shared how the overseas experience in USA shaped his outlook as an entrepreneur and made him more confident in dealing with uncertainties and challenges.

NTUpreneur Seah Jie SongWhat kickstarted your interest in entrepreneurship?
My dad runs his own business and his passion for work piqued my interest in entrepreneurship.

How has your OEP experience been?
It has been eye-opening, and I am grateful for the opportunity to be one of the first OEP team batch with the resumption of global travel.

What insights have you gained from OEP?
The difference in culture and mindset helped to widen my perspective as an individual. Living in San Francisco for a long period of time has allowed me to foster close connections with the locals and exposed the tunnel visions I had prior to joining the programme.

What advice would you have for students interested in this field?
Do it while you can, be hungry for the experience. It is better to regret trying than having not tried at all. Always push yourself beyond your comfort zone.

What’s next for your journey as an entrepreneur?
As planned, I will continue to learn in the industry while trying something new every day.

“I would do this again.”
