Project Group – RePhys

Project Title:
RePhys – “Physiotherapy Made Remote”

Description:

Massage is an essential aspect of rehabilitative programmes in order to relieve pain. However, meeting physiotherapists in-person can be incredibly inconvenient to immobile patients. RePhys is a real-time IoT enabled massage device that seamlessly connects users to their physiotherapists, regardless of location. It is the only product in the market that can transmit the touch of the physiotherapist accurately, ensuring a real and accommodating massaging experience. If adopted, it could prevent overcrowding in physiotherapy clinics and tackle the inconvenience patients face while travelling, in addition saving time and costs. Moreover, it could encourage a new culture of online physiotherapy sessions. We are reducing the distance between patients and physiotherapists by getting physiotherapy at home!

Experience:

“EG9003 is one of the best way to start an entrepreneurial career with engineering. We not just understand designing a project, understanding a problem worth addressing and at the same time we learn how to pitch it and make a final product out of a simple idea.
Starting work with a multidisciplinary is one of the best experiences as I got to learn so much from my mechanical engineering and computer science counter parts. We spent so many hours working on the prototype helped me understanding technical skills and working in a team as well.
Leading the team not just taught me leadership qualities but also taught me how to manage people, collate team work and divide work to improve efficiency.”

“Taking EG9003 was fun and fulfilling, where you are able to meet people from different fields and come up with an idea for a product and actually creating it. To me EG9003 is more than just a mod where you are able to train your critical thinking and interpersonal skills to work with others.”

"The biggest gap in any market is the lack of passionate entrepreneurs that are willing to do anything to innovate, bringing about advancement to society." I believe that this course is the start our journey to bridge that gap.

“The journey of EG9003 is enjoyable and meaningful. I have gained an insight of entrepreneurship and product development, learned knowledge related to Arduino, more importantly, I met a great team. My teammates helped me and taught me more than I expected. Great thank to them and anyone who contributed to this module.”
