A selective interdisciplinary Second Major programme with perspectives from chemistry, physics, biology, engineering, and industry.

Have you ever wondered what chemicals are present in the food we eat? Or how foods are treated and packaged to ensure that they are safe to consume? There is a large and important field of science and technology dedicated to understanding food, and coming up with new ways to improve how we source, prepare, handle, and consume it.

This undergraduate programme is run by the School of Physical and Mathematical Sciences in partnership with Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and NTU's School of Biological Sciences and School of Chemical and Biomedical Engineering. Topics covered include food chemistry and microbiology, food process engineering, biomedical nanotechnology, and food safety analysis. Students also undertake a semester of overseas exchange at Wageningen University, a world-renowned centre of Food Science and Technology research.

Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level H2 Level pass in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics.
Polytechnic Diploma Relevant diploma. Click here for more information.
International Baccalaureate Diploma Pass in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics at Higher Level.
NUS High School Diploma Major CAP of 2.0 in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics.
Others (including international applicants) A good grade in Chemistry and Mathematics/Physics at the senior high school level, equivalent to the Singapore-Cambridge GCE A-Level or International Baccalaureate.

This is a full-time four-year Bachelor of Science programme.
