What Studying at NTU Offers
Preparing Students for an Interdisciplinary Future
Interdisciplinary education fosters holistic thinking and develops a well-rounded intellectual toolkit, empowering you to adapt, collaborate, and contribute meaningfully in an ever-changing global and interconnected world.
And it's not just about grades or career prospects – interdisciplinary learning can transform your life, leading you toward more personal growth, becoming a skilled problem solver, making informed decisions, and enhancing your wellbeing. With interdisciplinary learning, you'll gain a broader perspective, a sharper mind, cultural understanding, and the ability to tackle challenges from multiple angles.
In line with this vision, NTU introduced a new curriculum structure featuring a range of Interdisciplinary Collaborative Core (ICC) Courses. Click here to learn more about the diverse range of ICC courses and how they benefit you.
Students' Feedback on the new ICC Curriculum
Even as a humanities student, I felt I could be better in my communication and presentation skills. Presenting my findings in the ICC classes was good practice that helped me to do well in an interview for an internship. That was quite empowering.
Sherryl Vania, Linguistics & Multilingual StudiesI used to see solutions only from a tech point of view, but through this course, I learnt to think about business and social science aspects too when making design considerations.
Brian Leung Chee Hoe, Aerospace Engineering & BusinessNow, I truly appreciate the beauty of interdisciplinary couses. It was fascinating to watch those of different majors having different perspectives. And to know that with collaboration, these ideas could translate into a masterpiece.
Leong Shi Xuan, Biological SciencesEach ICC module that I’ve taken has broadened my horizons and allowed me to think critically. For instance in one module, I was able to analyse underlying developments that might not be obvious. After taking another module, I now place more significance on wellbeing, both physical and mental.
