TAISP x MLDA: First-Time Collaboration Sparks Hands-On AI Learning

It was food, friends, and firsts at the TAISP x MLDA workshop, where the Turing AI Scholars Programme (TAISP) teamed up with the Machine Learning and Data Analytics (MLDA@EEE) club for the very first time. The first-ever workshop organised by TAISP scholars received overwhelming support from 204 attendees, marking an exciting milestone for the programme.
Before taking a deep dive into machine learning, the evening kicked off with dinner and networking.
Participants got a crash course in the fundamentals of linear regression and neural networks, learning how these models form the backbone of modern AI.

But theory didn’t stay on the slides for long. In the hands-on segment, attendees put concepts into action by building models to predict HDB resale prices. Experimenting with both linear regression and neural networks, participants witnessed the clear comparison in results.

The blend of practical coding and approachable theory created an energy that matched the spirit of the collaboration itself: students from two AI-focused communities working together to make technical learning both fun and impactful.
With this successful debut, TAISP Club and MLDA have set the tone for future partnerships that spark curiosity and push boundaries in the AI space.
