Seminar: Harnessing the AI Gateway: Optimizing Cost, Accuracy, and Performance Across Multiple AI Agents

Abstract: As AI agents become operational and widespread across business functions, managing their cost, accuracy, and performance is crucial for scaling their impact. With the rapid emergence of advanced models like Deepseek, organizations need robust mechanisms to monitor, compare, and optimize AI agents reliably. This talk introduces the evolving AI Gateway pattern—a centralized approach for handling model selection, evaluation, and optimization.

We will explore how teams can leverage tracing information to evaluate the cost and accuracy trade-offs between various models and understand the role of an observability stack specifically tailored for AI systems. By integrating cost-aware evaluations and automated security guardrails, companies can enhance performance, reduce risks, and create an optimization loop for continuous improvement. Through a hands-on demo using multiple agents via familiar OpenAI-compatible APIs, we’ll analyze cost and performance insights, conduct cross-model evaluations, and discuss key trade-offs. The session will conclude by sharing practical strategies for embedding the AI Gateway within enterprise workflows, ensuring AI deployments are scalable, efficient, and aligned with organizational goals.
