The 4th International Competition for Structural Health Monitoring (IC-SHM 2026)

We are delighted to announce that the 4th International Competition for Structural Health Monitoring (IC-SHM 2026) is now open for registration. This year’s competition is jointly organized by ANCRiSST, Harbin Institute of Technology, the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign, and Nanyang Technological University. The competition aims to encourage innovative solutions in structural health monitoring and welcomes interested students and young scholars from universities worldwide. Participants may enter the competition individually or in teams of up to five members. Each team may participate in one or more project topics.

The competition includes the following three project topics:

  • UAV-based vision displacement measurement
  • Multi-view semantic 3D reconstruction of bridge structures
  • Apparent damage diagnosis of structures based on image-text multi-modal data

Important dates are as follows:

  • Registration deadline: 30 June 2026
  • Dataset release to registered teams: 5 July 2026
  • Submission deadline: 30 September 2026
  • Winner announcement: 31 October 2026

Submission requirements:

Participants are required to submit commented Python code, a README file, reproducibility materials or data links, a 10-minute presentation video, PowerPoint slides, and a 10-15 page paper using the IC-SHM template.

For each project, the first prize is USD 1,000, the second prize is USD 500, and the third prize is USD 300. All participants will receive certificates. Selected papers and presentation videos will be included in the online IC-SHM 2026 proceedings, and outstanding submissions may be recommended for journal publication.
